The Hood's Creek Trolls Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

-Rusty-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk across grassy (or snowy) open space, to find an easy three part cache.

You are following "Hood's Creek," looking for coordinates written on lumber, and finally a metal ammo box. Nardin Park Church bought these twenty acres in 1963 when this area was still Farmington Township. The present building was completed in 1965. Many people have helped to develop, protect and utilize this space, for recreation, gardening, worship, camping, and general enjoyment. The person who worked the hardest here was Jim Hood, now deceased. He not only cut brush and trimmed trees, but he rerouted this small creek so that it was clean and clear, straight and well groomed. In honor of his devoted work, the congregation has dubbed it “Hood’s Creek.” The creek is supplied by the drainage from the church parking lot and the subdivision to the west. Wander through the woods and bring your children to the playground!
