Geocache Description:

This is a strategically placed, small cache with special camouflage.

FTF goes to hot rod on foot and bike.

Pope County belonged to the Osage Indians until 1808. It is these natives who planted and maintained a lovely peach orchard on top of East Point Mountain. With one remaining peach tree (in my front yard), the orchard is now gone. The neighbors and I have found evidence of the mountains' former residents in the form of knife points.

Also maintaining the orchard, this property had been acquired by J.R. (John) Rohner in the late 1800's. The cache is located on the site where Rohner had his homestead. The property eventually became part of the Martin family and was sold in the 1960's to develop the present neighborhood. Look around and see Rohner's old hog pen and then find the Triangulation station FG1858 (get this cache as a two-fer)!

Some of you may find this easy, whereas for others, it may be challenging. This cache has been placed with permission of the property owners, whom you may find watching you. The water tower access road will put you within 100' of the cache. No need for stealth as you will find you have plenty of privacy.

Original Cache contents include: Tape Measure, Purell hand sanitizer, letter opener, zip ties, bungee, log book, pencil, pen, and special camo nano-micro for the FTF.
