Geocache Description:

Our 2nd Geocache placement today. Easy to find.

This cache goes along with 3 others in the same general area in the Pickering Hills.
If you are traveling from Cranbrook towards Fernie on Highway #3 you cross over the Kootenay River near the turnoff to Wardner. Just after the bridge you come to the turn off to the Kootenay Trout Hatchery. This road goes to the north and is called the Wardner-Ft. Steele road.
Staying on Highway #3 travel 6.9 km East past this Wardner-Ft Steele junction and then turn off the highway to the left( north side) where there is a pullout and a garbage recepticle, park here. From here you must walk a very short distance north across a cattle guard on a road closed to vehicles. You will see a very large patch of bullrushes to your left. These rushes are filled with blackbirds for most of the year.
Follow the GPS as the cache is right near there.
