Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden along a section of the Ice Age Trail which is located on Chippewa Co. land. The trail is well marked and was mown where needed. Only foot traffic is allowed. There is a small parking area where the trail intersects 160th St., about a mile south of Co. M.

The cache is located on what is considered an ice walled lake plain. 15,000 years ago, you would have been at the bottom of a lake. The lake shore was a wall of dirty ice hundreds of feet above this level. Sediment was washing in and filling the lake. When the climate warmed, the ice wall melted, leaving this pile of silt and clay as a flat topped hill or plain.

There is a bench close to the cache where you can sit and look at the nice view. You are looking for an ammo box.

Check out the trail across the road too. It goes between a couple of small lakes and is fairly easy walking. There are a couple of good spots to hide another cache if anyone is inclined to do so.

Try to plan a little extra time to truly enjoy this area, because it is quite pretty. The Visitor's Center has lots of interesting information and some hiking trails too.
