Geocache Description:

Fullam Pond is a beautiful area in the center of a vast wilderness wonderland. A great area for an incredible range of outdoor activities. The cache, an ammo box is named after our daughter, who packed and hid the cache.

Pisgah State Park includes over 13,500 acres of rough forested terrain, encompassing a complete watershed north of the Ashuelot River. Within the Cheshire County towns of Winchester, Chesterfield and Hinsdale, the park protects seven ponds (popular for fishing), four highland ridges and numerous wetlands. The area's 21 square miles make it the largest property in the New Hampshire state park system.

Six trailheads around the park disperse use, reducing guest impact and encouraging the discovery of Pisgah's natural and cultural features. Year-round trailheads for hiking, mountain biking, ATV and snowmobile use provide options for short, moderate, and long treks into the backcountry. Park staff monitor the impact of motorized and bicycle use on the park seasonally. For information about equestrian use, call the park staff.

Pisgah State Park is open year-round and is free to the public.

The Friends of Pisgah, Inc. is a group of volunteers organized to assist the State of New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation in the planning, operation and maintenance of Pisgah State Park, so that the lands are preserved in a natural condition and conserved in accordance with an approved management plan. The Friends have been critically involved in the development and maintenance of the park's trail system and have extensively documented the history of the area. All are welcome to join the Friends. Members receive periodic mailings throughout the year to keep them informed about meetings and upcoming events such as hikes, volunteer work details, picnics and field trips.

This was our entry point, from here you are able to drive into the park to within ½ mile of the cache location. The gate here is open when the road is passable (I drove my Oldsmobile through) If this gate is locked it is 2.5 miles to the cache from this location. However there are many ways to enter the park, some shorter and some longer. Good luck and Happy Caching!! There is a 6 pack of AA batteries for the FTF!!

*** Print the State Park map and take it with you***
