Geocache Description:

There are a lot of amazing views in NJ's Highlands region. Many are so scenic, its hard to believe you are in NJ. Here is a great view where there is no mistake you are in New Jersey.

I was in the area on a cache maintenance visit and found this spot. I was struck both by the view and the fact that despite the hilltop kiosk and benches, its fairly unknown.

From this vantage point you get to see both the beauty and overdevelopment that are New Jersey. Look one way and you see the rolling hills. Look another and there is a housing development, or a shopping center.

The sounds of nearby Routes 287 and 23 are prominent, but when the wind whips up it drowns them out and gives you a sense of solitude.

Best approach is via Mountain Ave. in Pequannock. Park at N40.58.252, W74.19.529.
