Geocache Description:

This cache replaces my previous cache in this area, which disappeared, most probably falling victim to the Curse of St.Thomas! The cache is a small tupperware box hidden near to the village of Dilhorne in North Staffordshire.

This cache is quite a small box, so small items only please. The cache is located on a hill overlooking Dilhorne, in the small copse known locally as St. Thomas' Trees. The hill is the site of a bronze-age burial mound. There are excellent views over Dilhorne parish, and on a clear day as far as the Roaches and Shutlingsloe to the north, and Rugeley and Cannock Chase to the south.

The cache site can be approached from two directions:

1. There is limited roadside parking at N52 59.233 W002 02.254, for a short and relatively flat walk to the cache.

2. For a more interesting walk, park at Dilhorne Recreation Centre (N52 59.323 W002.02.550), turn left out of the main gates, follow the lane up past the 11th Century All Saints Church and take the next public footpath on the left, opposite Charlie Bassett's pub.

My last cache in this area only lasted a few months, so please ensure that it is left well-hidden, as the area is popular with dog walkers and local kids.
