Geocache Description:

Do you like word search puzzles? If yes, this is a cache for you! I got (stole?) the idea for this cache from one located near Albany, NY by Rusty O Junk.

The cache is a word search game, if you find the correct word in the puzzle you’ll have enough information to locate the main cache, a 30-cal ammo box containing the logbook and prizes. Due to the difficulty of this cache I've put a nice (I think) prize in the final cache, valued at $20. If you find the final cache and want to take the prize I ask you replace it with something of equal value($20). This cache is designed to be winter accessible; most micros and the main cache are positioned between 3 and 5 feet above ground or otherwise designed so as to not be buried by snow. The coordinates listed at the top are a convenient parking location for starting the hunt although there is no need to start there. There are 25 micro caches to use to help you find the main cache. If all goes well you will find enough information to get the main cache after finding just 5 micros.

Here’s how it works. Print the image below, it’s a 5x5 grid, containing the coordinates for 25 micro caches. Under each coordinate there is enough space to record a letter and a number. Each micro cache is a stainless 1-1/4 inch diameter fender washer with a letter & number stamped on it and then attached to objects in the wild. When you find a micro cache write the letter and number from the washer onto your print-out in the space provided on the grid under the micro’s coordinates. When you have all the letters to spell the word “HOARD” in a straight line either vertical, horizontal or diagonal, forward or backwards, up or down but all-in-a-straight-line then you have enough info to find the final cache. Substitute the numbers as found on the washers for the corresponding letters used to spell “HOARD” into the final coordinates listed below to get the final cache coordinates.

FINAL CACHE COORDINATES are: Lat N42 h0. 9r5 Lon W77 ad. o92. Replace the letters in the final cache coordinates with the corresponding number from the word-search-grid using only the letters in the word “HOARD”. Example, for "Lat N42 h0", If you find the letter "H" that you use to spell "HOARD" had the number "6" stamped on the washer then the coordinate would be "Lat N42 60" We substituted the number "6" for the letter "H".

Some notes…
Some letters in the grid may be there more than once. Ensure you can properly spell-out “HOARD” in a straight line and only use the numbers from the corresponding grid to find the final cache.

Each micro as viewed left-to-right, has stamped first a letter, then a number. Don’t confuse the letter “oh” (O) with a zero. On the washer, If it’s on the left, it’s a letter O, not a zero (0).

The final cache is on public land w/in one hour's drive of Monroe County.
