Geocache Description:

Yep that’s right…There is a GPS (Magellan) in the cache for the First to Find.Plus an Intructional video. Also my Trail Hound’s FTF Michigan Coin (numbers to log for icon)

But first you will have to visit a Famous Milestone and get the four-digit number needed to solve the puzzle.

The Milestone was once used as a Navigational Marker (Two Hundred Year old GPS!) To guide travelers to the Sussex County Seat
At the posted coordinates, You will find a Marker and a Sign. The sign will have a four-digit number on it, which will become A B C D

~EXAMPLE~ If the numbers were 4321 ‘A’ would be 4, ‘B’ would be 3, ‘C’ would be 2 and ‘D’ would be 1 therefore (a+c) would equal 6

To find the final Coords…Use the following formula:
N (DxA) (A+D-C)° (D+A) (B). (B) (D-A) (D+D)

W (D+A-C) (B) (C-A)° (D+A) (B-B).(A+A) (C+A+A) (D-A)

You will find parking for the final at the trailhead that is just a grass pull off with a chain across the old woods road. If you can not find the trail head…Subtract .093 from the northing coordinates and add .007 to the Westing CoOrds of the final numbers.

The final cache is an ammo can and is located a short distance from the trail….

This cache should make you aware of how far navigation has come in the past 200 plus years…The Milestone was probably located along a dirt two track trail used by horses and an occasional horse and wagon.
Good Luck and Happy trails
