Cayuga's Tight Squeeze Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cayuga Crew: Despite "best" intentions to replace and repair this cache of ours we just couldn't seemed to get motovated enought to actually head out and do it. Rather than let it languish until ole Sappy T starts sending out threatening yet very polite letters demanding action we thought it best just to be self policing and archive it ourselves.

Seems that there is a little free space opening up in Como Park for others to untilize.

Geocache Description:

Cayuga’s Tight Squeeze is a Micro Cache located in Como Lake Park in Lancaster New York. Posted park hours are 7:00AM till Dusk.

This is another in our series of caches placed in Como Lake Park and nearby in the Village and Town of Lancaster. Upon approval of this cache ten caches will be within a one mile radius of the center of Como Lake Park. The name came upon us as we attempted to find a location compliant with the desired distance separation required by the Geocaching guidelines, but there’s more than one reason for this cache name. Our goal is to entice you to make the trip and make a day of it, attempting all the nearby caches. Pack a picnic lunch, bring the bikes and the kids as most caches can be accessed via bicycle and there is plenty of new playground equipment to be enjoyed.

This cache is a micro hidden in the woods. It’s no ordinary micro and these are not ordinary woods. It is hidden in a mature stand of Northern Red Oaks, our favorite hardwood. This particular stand is quite impressive by our standards consisting of several large mature trees that provide a shady respite to weary picnickers. As of this posting the trees are loaded with acorns and the squirrel activity provides quite a show. If you are fortunate you will be struck on the head by a falling acorn, an event that guarantees you luck and good fortune whenever alone amongst the hardwood giants searching for caches. (I made that up but it’s my cache page and I can lie if I want to!)

As micros in the woods are often the toughest finds for us we’ve decided to offer a little inside information. Unfortunately you’ll have to get near the cache location to acquire it. Please attempt to replace the cache as you found it if you are successful.

Congratulations to Strikeforce1 FTF on 10-7-05
