The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just over a year and a half, the quest has grown to over three hundred caches hidden in at least thirty-three Indiana counties, and the hiders consist of several cacher teams, which are comprised of A Man and His Dog... and one who is a Dog and her Woman. Over 600 cacher teams have logged over 7,000 finds.

”Jogging My memory"

Welcome to Big Run Cemetery, Franklin Township, Section 7, Marion County. This is small cemetery that is very well kept. As with many pioneer cemeteries there are some stones here that are on the ground, and a few broken ones, but on the whole, a majority of the stones are still quite legible and in good condition.

Let's Start with Alice Kemper, who died at the young age of 14 years.

Let's make our next stop With a young girl who died at the age of 4 years, Her name is gone from the stone due to a break, but we can still read that she was the daughter of D & G Moore

I found it strange that in a cemetery with most of it's interments dating from the 1850s to the early 1900s there would be two modern stones.

WARNING:  FIND LOGS ON THIS CACHE THAT INDICATE NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE!

The cache container is is a camo'ed matchsafe. Please leave it at least as well concealed, if not better, than you found it. If you find fallen or worn US flags at the graves of veterans, please take a moment to upright or replace them. Dispose of worn US flags in a respectable manner.    If you find the coordinates to be a little off, do not hesitate to post a waypoint with your log.  As always, be respectful, and cache in, trash out.
