Geocache Description:

Located in Springboard Park in Salmo, B.C. Take a nice stroll, bike, or ski through this area and picture yourself amongst the giant cedars 100 years ago.

Once in Salmo, drive to N 49 11.356 and W 117 16.213 and park. Now take a leisurely walk along a well used trail to the cache. You will see lots of remains of the springboard holes loggers once used on large cedars to get higher on the tree and hence away from the taper that is so prevalent on large cedars. Remember, these oldtimers used axes and crosscut saws to fell these giants by hand!! Remember to bring your plant identification book with you. These old giants have long since been replaced by an undergrowth of new cedars, spruces and hemlocks which are overstoried by huge cottonwood trees.
Original contents are a FTF prize, CPR railer pin, funky eraser, and Team Salmo key chain. The container is or rather are - well that would be telling.
