Geocache Description:

There is a lot of history in dams in Nova Scotia. Dams have been used to raise water levels for city reservoirs,
moving logs during the lumber age, and most importantly today for generating electrical power. Many of these
hydro-electrical dams were constructed by independent companies and municipalities and were later taken
over by Nova Scotia Power. This cache was placed and will be maintained by a former NSPower employee
who maintained many dams in the area. Enjoy the view and the history!

Driving Hint: The direct route from Gilberts Cove is not a well maintained road. Access from Barton, Bear River or Weymouth is much better for cars.
