This cache offers the one of the greatest, and probably the most
unknown, views in the State College area. As a Penn State student,
I don't generally stray far from downtown but I decided to go for a
drive and I brought my GPSr along in case I got too lost. I hope
that you enjoy this view as much as I did. This cache is also an
answer to the Boalsburg Microcache (
GCP6T8) which is being removed soon.
The cache is on the left side of Rt 144 if you
are heading southbound. The right-hand side offers the view, but
stick to the left for the safety of yourself and
the drivers on 144. The best land mark for
spotting the area for parking is the elevation sign, but the cache
is not on the sign. The cache is a magnet-keyholder with only a
slip of paper for a log. You'll need your own writing implement
with a fine tip. You will need to exercise some discretion since
this is near a few homes. Please replace the cache as you found
it.
I will be removing this cache when I graduate in May, 2006
(unless I get a job in State College), so don't put it off for too
long.
