Seek a Camo Coffee Can in Chickasaw Park. This cache was initially placed with small trade items including: cards, puzzle, hot wheels, flashlights, Jr. Deputy Badge, Jeep TB and more.
This Cache is placed in Chickasaw Park. This area was once the Town of Chickasaw, surveyed and platted in 1854. Also in 1854 a school and mill were built near this site. The actual quarry and area around it were in use prior to that date but records are limited. This site was a grist mill using water power from the Little Cedar River and continued in operation until the late 1960's. This area was also a recreation area long before the mill closed and was even a County park when the mill was still in operation for several years in the 1960's. The Post Office operated from 1855 to 1903. When the railroad went through to Ionia the town was bypassed and this sealed it's fate.
