Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Duncan Cache Team for FTF!

U.S. Route 66 is affectionately called the "Mother Road." It went from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was the subject of a TV show and a popular song, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66." The highway has been decommissioned and now, in Western Oklahoma, it is replaced by Interstate 40. In most places I-40 was built right over the old road. However, in some places you can still see the old road. Let's go see it!!

For more information on Route 66, please go to Route 66, Enjoy the Ride!

The cache container is a camo m&m's minis candy container. It is a plastic tube about four inches long and about an inch in diameter. There are no trading items or writing instrument. There's only a log sheet.

Here the old road serves as a fairly well used local road.
