Yet Another Transfer Station. Yats!
The dumps! When I was a kid, I remember going to several dumps in the ajoining valleys. Even up valley at this location you could dump just about what ever you wanted when I was a kid. Today, these are now transfer stations. A place to drop off or trade money for recyclables, and household junk.
Most places like these are now where your local garbage truck dumps his routine load of garbage where it is processed for dumping somewhere else. They have a bunch of signs for does and don'ts for types of waste they will take. Most will no longer take wastes that used to get dumped in places like these. Hense the name of the cache.
The cache was placesd while the gate was in the closed position. Mind where you park for the retrieval for this cache. The gate is closed on Mondays. Best time I think is when the day is done, but as with any cache, keep your eyes open and play it smart. MR
