An anticlockwise route is quicker to the cache, but the circular route clockwise is very pleasent.
The cache is a blacked out tuppaware box.
The Country Park & Borough Hill Location of "Daventry Calling" are probably Daventry’s two most pleasant walks, and are enjoyed by many members of the community and so an ideal spot for the planting of my first Geocache.
Daventry Country Park opened in 1978 and is situated close to the town centre. The old Daventry Reservoir which was constructed in the early 19th century now makes the centrepiece of this pleasant round walk. The area around the reservoir provides habitats for a wide variety of wildlife; the Squirrels & Rabbits especially seem to like the tree lines as well as numerous species of birds.
Facilities include a visitor centre, ranger’s office, cafe, adventure playground and numerous picnic areas. The park also offers a programme of environmental education activities (throughout the summer months), and a solar power system, recently installed as part of the ‘solar century’ nationwide promotion of solar power.
