Geocache Description:

This cache is located at Old Fort Hamilton at the Soldiers, Sailors and Pioneers Monument.

The monument proudly stands at the 1790s site of Forth Hamilton. The 3 story structure was erected by grateful citizens and decicated July 4 1906 to the memory of soldiers, sailors and pioneers of Butler County. Notable features are colorful windows that honor the service of women during the Civil War. Most prominent is Billy Yand, a 17-foot, 3,500-pound Civil War soldier proclaiming victory that was designed and built by Rudolph Thiem.

Welcome to Butler County, a friendly place to visit with a variety of rural, suburban and small city neighborhoods, parks, historical sites and outdoor art to enjoy as you search for the geocaches.
