Betcha didn't know that Ozark, Arkansas had it's own ATOLL.
Well.........it may not really be an ATOLL, but if you look at a
U.S.G.S. topographic map or aerial photos, you might notice that it
missed a good chance at being one! This site is at the City of
Ozark Lake. An old gas well sits in the middle of this man-made
wonder and the land contained inside the site has to be pumped free
of water periodically to accomodate workers. Call me weird, but
when water is present, it DOES remind me of an ATOLL, even though
we are several hundred miles away from any ocean!!! Access is best
gained off HWY.23, north of I-40. Your GPSr will guide you to a
locked gate where a bike or a tri-cycle with all-terrain wheels
would come in handy. Or as my momma used to say "HOOF-IT" boy! It's
only about 1/4 mile to the cache. Once you reach the ATOLL, it's
best to walk in a clockwise direction.......b/c when I arrived it
had been freshly mowed that way. The cache container is a plastic
jar with camo and I love to stock my caches with quality SWAG!
*******UPDATE The plastic jar has either washed away or is under
water, so I replaced it with a freshly stocked ammo can just above
the high water mark. Expect to see some wildlife while here so
bring your binoculars and a fishing pole. I personally have run
into a couple of big-time and well-known PRO-FISHERMAN who say that
this lake has some bigguns! SHHHHHHHHH! If you "Can't Find It
