Geocache Description:

The Outlook Roland Volunteers have made a self guided forest walk suitable for all ages. This is a cache for non GPS users too - letterboxers might like to use the map and please bring your own stamp pad.

Coordinates take you to a Useful Place. Path begins in the nearby campsite beyond the stile. Collect your illustrated brochure from the box S 41° 28.069 E 146° 13.217 to find the numbers that belong to these clues.

erratics + (shoes ÷ man fern) = cammo cache

I found this pretty walk while doing a reccie for caches 123Go, Claude#1 and Van Dyke#2 by Mr Tack, and Roland in the Clouds, so the stash includes things to help you on a quest further up the mountains

Please open the bag and tip out the swaps BEFORE removing the bag from the cache as it has a narrow neck. repack in reverse. Back pocket contains the Logbook, cache stamp (attention cachers this is not a swap) pencil, sharpener

Swaps:
Carabiner
spare batteries
water resitant watch set to daylight savings
LED torch/radio (needs fresh ear cushions)
stretchy frog - copy him and limber up
lung capicity meter - keep that ball up for 5 minutes
"oxygen container" - fill with expired air for 16% O2, can double as water bag!
Toiletries for afterwards

In 15 mins the walk brings you to the road across from the start of the Roland Track. An information booth here contains a walkers registration book and brochures detailing the mountain tracks, habitats and local birdlife (94 species of birds recorded in the area).

"The [botanical] brochure, by Hobart botanist Dr. Richard Barnes, is non-technical and will be informative to the general public which increasingly includes visitors from all over the world.
The [bird] brochure, by resident Jim Hunter, is designed for use along with
an illustrated ornithological field guide. "

Walk goes from Picnic Reserve along the creek to main carpark for the Roland Track.
If you bring a dog or have a person in your party who cannot climb the stile follow O'Neill's Rd (marked as "Mt Roland Track 1km" ) and begin at the other end - there is a box of brochures there too.
See the uploaded map. (visit link)
Our dog got through the fence nearer to the toilets.
Happy Geocaching!
