Clay & Chris Dunsmore died in a tragic car accident in December 1987.

Clay originated this trail in 1986 to connect the Total Living Center to the Stanley Market Place. As a result, he earned the Boy Scout’s highest achievement, the Eagle Badge, on September 21, 1987.
Chris also began his Eagle project here on the picnic area of the trail, after his death, the Stanley Troop 49 finished his work. Chris was awarded his Eagle Badge posthumously on February 17, 1988.
Other Scouts have since earned their Eagle Badges by completing here and Troop 49 and Clay and Chris’ family and friends continue their love by developing the Dunsmore Trail.
