Who Am I? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dosido: I decided to archive Who Am I?, as it's been up for nearly two years. In addition, in reflecting on some of my hides, this one has little to offer in terms of location, view, etc...
Might just have a use for the ammo can too [}:)]

Thanks to all who visited!

Geocache Description:

Introduction

You've all heard of Freud, Einstein, the Wright Brothers. But have you heard of William Shockley or Francis Crick?

This puzzle cache should introduce you to some truly amazing minds that you may have never heard of before, or have long since forgotten. The point of this cache is to give you something to do at home before heading out into the now cooler weather to get your caching fix!

The Cache

The coordinates listed used to be for the parking area, but due to recent construction, you'll want to use the parking coordinates listed in the 'additional waypoints' section. To obtain the actual coordinates of the cache, you'll need to determine the identities of three people who have, in some way, shape or form, changed the face of our world today. The coordinates for the cache are:

N42 09.ABC W 72 20.DEF

To obtain the missing numbers, go to the following webpages: http://geocaching.the-whites.org/xxxxx.html - fill in the xxxxx with the last name (all lower case) of the people you discover below. (e.g. if the person's name is Albert Einstein, you would goto http://geocaching.the-whites.org/einstein.html)

Who am I #1:

I was born in 1881 and served in the London Scottish Regiment from 1900 to 1914. In 1928, while continuing my work on the influenza virus, I observed that mold had developed accidently on a staphylococcus culture that I was working on and that the mold had created a bacteria-free circle around itself. I eventually determined that the substance that inhibited the bacteria growth was penicillin.

In 1945 I won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. I died in 1955 and my body is buried in St. Paul's Cathedral. Who Am I?

Who Am I #2:

I was born in London in 1912. In 1937, I penned a paper outlining a machine that was essentially the famous relative of the modern computer. In 1938 I was recruited to serve at the Government Code and Cypher School, located in a victorian mansion called Bletchley Park. I was a major part of the team that created the Bombe - a computer like machine that was used to decrypt Nazi codes in World War II (and made the great cache, Mercury Rising possible) In 1954, I committed suicide by eating an apple laced with cyanide. Who Am I #3:

I was born in Utah in 1906. When I was 12 I built an electric motor and my family's first washing machine. At 14, I came up with the idea for modern television. In 1927, I used my 'Image Dissector' to send the first all-electronic television picture ever transmitted. In 1934, the U.S. patent office ruled in my favor, forcing RCA pay royalties for manufacturing television sets. Called by some "The Genius of Green Street", I died in 1971. Who Am I?

I'd be interested in knowing whether you knew these people before you completed this cache!
