Pandy Panderson was the first travel bug that I released. In 2003 he stopped over at Bernie's Bug Bungalow (GCE103) in East San Diego County and was destroyed in the Cedar Creek Fire. This Pandy Panderson Memorial East Cache is for other travel bugs to stop and pay their respects to Pandy Panderson and what he meant to the Travel Bug Community.
To access this cache use the parking area just downriver from the Waste Treatment Plant on Aubrey L. White Parkway. Do not park in the Bowl & Pitcher campground unless you are camping there. Do Not park on the Parkway and scramble down the hill. There is good parking available. If the gate for parking area is closed there is enough room for you to park safely off the road near the gate. At the parking area you will find a trail that heads downriver. Take that trail and you are on your way. The trail closest to the river will serve you best. When you get near the cache please try not to walk on the knickanick (the nice plant covering the ground in the area of the cache). There is an easy way to the cache without walking on the plant.
