Geocache Description:

In 1891 my great grandfather and great grandmother settled in San Diego County in what is now Poway. Things were much different then. It was a two day trip to San Diego by horseback to obtain supplies.

In 1948 my grandfather and father finished constructing the two old rock houses near here [see pic] I lived there as a very young child. They are not owned by the family now, so do not disturb the occupants.

I placed this cache to comemorate my families history in San Diego County. If you feel like it, include a brief word about your family when you log in this cache. How long in San Diego? or any other interesting thing about your family.

I'll be checking to see if anyone can log in that their family was here before 1891. Native American Geocachers have an advantage on this.
