Situated in Belhus Woods Country Park this cache is a simple stroll along well used forest paths.
Belhus Woods Country Park is a gem of a country park near Aveley in south Essex easily accessible from the M25 and A13, and near Lakeside shopping centre. The Park consists of mixed woodland and gravel pits and is very popular with the walking and fishing community (there is also an archery club and a model railway club. There is ample parking at the forestry centre at £2 per day.
The cache is in a quiet corner of the park, about a 10 minute stroll from the car park. The cache is in a sandwich container and contains small gifts and a log book.
The cache is in the proximity of a stream, so some watchfulness with small children may be wise, though I have never known more than a couple of inches of water and it is invariably dry in summer. My 2 year old has always been quite safe as we tell and act stories 'al fresco' (hence the title). This is a favourite place of ours and we look forward to planting more caches if this, our first, is a success. The GPS Co-ordinates were a little variable here, possibly due to overhead leaves, but I've tried to get an average.
