Geocache Description:

Inspired by the scale model solar system at the Museum of Science in Boston, this cache uses the main dome of the Naismith Hall of Fame to be a scale model sun. The planet caches at the appropriate scale distance.

With the Dome as our Sun, Earth would be bigger than a basketball, a 13" ball orbiting at about 2.4 miles from the sun.

At this scale, the moon would be the size of a baseball, about 35' from the cache. (The scale is 140' = 1,000,000 miles)

Parking for this cache is a little turn-out across from where East Elm St meets Rt 5, across the street from McDonald's. Since Rt 5 is not pedestrian friendly I strongly recommned not parking at McDonald's.

Cache is a micro, with only room for a log sheet. Please bring your own pen/pencil.
