Welcome to the Rasor Road Sand Dunes!!! During our anual Rasor Rd riding trip, I decided to hide a chache out here so that other cachers can see this really great sandy and weird area. The key word here is SAND. This area used a water stop for the T&T (Tonopah & Tidewater) Railroad transporting Borax from Death Valley to Barstow and to Los Angeles. Some of the original railroad bed is still there, and even has some ties and wood posts intact! There was also the Rasor Ranch house, but that has since been destroyed. The foundation and a comemorative plaque still exist. Remider: This is the extreem California remote desert!! It can be very hot in the summer time, and very cold in the winter. Check the weather reports for Barstow, CA. and Baker, CA to get an approximation. This area is also subject to flash flooding. This area IS the Mojave River Wash. The find should be simple, but getting there is the tough part. Original Contents: -Log Book -Pencils (for log book and trading) -C-6 Corvette -Train -Earplugs -Stress tester -Headphones -Fishing lures -FMF keychain -Mini flashlight Cache is a black painted PVC tube, approx 4" dia and 16" long. small Tupperware type platic container. ** The tupperware lid is labled as 'The Wal Mart Cache' which was going to be the original name, but I changed my mind.
