Continued from GEST 1: Who Let You Drive? (GCR6QC)

As I leave the car behind and hope it doesn’t fall to the same fate as the near by bucket of rust, I journey up to what seems like the top of the world and along the great esker. Now I hope you do know what an esker is, don’t you? Well, in case you don’t, it is a long narrow ridge of sand and gravel deposited by glacial meltwaters. Wow, that sure is a long way down and would make for a great place to go sledding, if it wasn’t for all of the trees on the side. Not every day you get to see, let alone walk, an esker. I can only imagine the incredible length of time it took to form such a geological feature.

I even wondered that maybe there would be some fossils of prehistoric wildlife buried deep in here somewhere. Wouldn’t that be incredible to find. One never knows the things that are so close to us and that we walk by every day, but yet our eyes and our minds just don’t see it. I better be careful around here, as I sure do get a sense that I am not alone. It’s just a weird feeling that I get as I walk along the top of the esker. Perhaps there are mystical creatures watching me and maybe they are the ones that caused that other car to wind up where it was. This trail just has to lead somewhere. It’s already felt like I have walked forever.
