A view of Port Macquarie from the north wall is quite spectacular
on most days. On ordinary days it is just magnificent.
To get to this cache from the town, you will need to travel across
the Hastings River. Take the ferry at Settlement Point, which runs
24hrs and costs $3.00 each way. The north wall is frequented by
fishermen who regularly catch bream, salmon, tailor & mulloway.
Afterwards if you would like to have a picnic in a secluded area,
there is a spot nearby at S31° 24.612, E152° 54.651 that only the
locals know about. Enjoy the serenity of the river and another
aspect of Port Macquarie. The cache is a 400ml Sistema clip top
container, packed with little treasures.
