Close to the summit of Lundevarden 677 m above sea level. About 30 minutes hike up from parking.

Lundevarden (677 moh.) er det mest populære turmålet i nærheten av Follebu. God utsikt i klart vær. Lundevarden var en del av vardesystemet, med siktlinje mot sør til Balbergkampen nord for Lillehammer og i Ringsaker, og det ble tent et bål her ved årtusenskiftet.
Tradisjonen sier at mannen Amund Tyrom bodde et sted oppe i nærheten av toppen av Lundevarden inntil for omtrent 200 år siden, da han flyttet ned til Tyrom. Rundt stedet der hytta hans en gang sto, skal det være planter som er uvanlige for området. I ungdommen skal Amund ha vært i København, Danmark, som soldat i "Den kongelige livgarde".Etterkommerne til Amund bodde på Tyrom til omtrent 1908.
På toppen er det to geodetiske referansepunkter, ett gammelt og et nytt.
Hvordan komme dit: Det er sti/vei helt opp til Lundevarden fra Tyrom. Se sporet på bildet «The Road Up». Det finnes en rekke stier til Lundevarden fra Tyrom, men denne er den korteste – og også den bratteste. For å gjøre det lettere å finne riktig sti/vei i veikryss, kan følgende veipunkter brukes. Når du er i Tyrom, bruk retningen til A, når du er i A, bruk retningen til B osv. Hvis du er i god form, bør du komme deg opp på ca. 30 minutter. Cachen er en militært enmanns kokekar. Det er en vertikal klippe ved cachen, pass på barn og hunder. Cachen inneholder loggbok, blyant og infoark.
Gapahuken på toppen av Lundevarden var bygd av Svein Waalen og satt opp 2024.Eng.The Gapahuken hut at the top of Lundevarden was built by Svein Waalen and erected in 2024.
Lundevarden(677 m above sea-level) is the most popular hike target in the proximity of Follebu. Good View in clear weather. Lundevarden was a part of the old cairn system, with sightline to the south to Balbergkampen north of Lillehammer og i Ringsaker) and a bonfire was set ablaze here at the change of millenium.
Spoken tradition have it that the man Amund Tyrom lived up somewhere close to the summit of Lundevarden until about 200 years ago, when he moved down to Tyrom. Around the site where his hut once stood there is said to be plants uncommon for the area. In his youth, Amund is said to have been in Copenhagen, Denmark as a soldier in "The Royal Foot Guard". The descendants of Amund lived at Tyrom until about 1908.
At the summit there is two geodetic benchmarks, one old one new.
How to get there: There is path/road all the way to up to Lundevarden from Tyrom. See the trace in the picture "The Road Up". There are a number of paths to Lundevarden from Tyrom, but this is the shortest - and also the steepest. To facilitate the finding of the correct path/road at cross-roads, the following way-points may be used. When at Tyrom use the bearing to A, when in A use the bearing to B etc. If you're in good shape you should make it up in appr. 30 miniutes. The cache is an army one-man food container. There is a vertical cliff-face by the cache, take care of kids and dogs. The cache contains log-book, pencil and stashnote.
