stonyagers: We've enjoyed caching and hiking in this area for over four years. It's been a fun time for us. Now we find the Coachella Valley Water District has posted a "Trespass and Loitering Forbidden By Law" sign. I contacted the water district officials, and they explained that off road vehicles, i.e. dirt bikes, quads, and 4X4 vehicles in the area are a major concern. They are banning all activity, including hikers. Thus the entire series (12 caches) must be removed.
