The cache is located at St. James Cemetery, an almost forgotten piece of history. There are several Civil War and earlier graves. The area also played a role in the war Morgan's Raiders passed not far from here and had a skirmish in Wintersville. Research I've done tells me the Morgantown Raiders may have been captured at a cave nearby, I'm still investigating this.
Please be respectful and say a prayer for the men, Blue or Grey who fought and died.
GEOCACHING PURIST WARNING – Unfortunately, there some “geocaching Purist” that think everyone should cache the way they do and will leave comments thinking they are the geocaching police. Since Groundspeak owns geocaching.com, I will not tolerate any such post and will be deleted without warning. Please do not let this warning scare you. Except for a selected few, all geocachers are the best people I have ever meet. However there are a selected few that like to think they own this sport and have left comments on other caches to correct other people to cache the way they do. So to keep this cache a family oriented cache, I am issuing this warning.
