If there can be 101 caches named for 101 Dalmatians, why not 1000 caches named for David’s favorite salad dressing, Thousand Island? Imagine 1000 little green micros like the bits of sweet pickle in a serving of Thousand Island dressing. Each cache is named after an island and placed near a spot that corresponds to the island.
Our first island is Björkö in Sweden. We toured the Viking town of Birka located on the island of Björkö in Lake Mälaren while visiting our friend Hans back in 1999. Hans used to live in NC and was David’s flight instructor. He now lives in Sweden and is an airline pilot as well as a Geocacher. He goes by the Geocaching name Haviator. We suggest you visit our website David&Diana’s Excellent Vacation In Sweden to learn more about our trip to Sweden and our visit to Björkö.
The cache container is a 35mm file canister. Beware; Vikings and trolls have been sighted in the area.
Since the width of the creek is less than the GPS error, The cache is on the north side of the creek.
As they say in Sweden, “Njut av ävetyret och ha det så roligt”
