This area is along gravel road 162 which joins highway 68-80 about 1.2 miles east of the east end of Eggner Ferry Bridge. Was it a ancient stream bed or a beach where this material became water-worn? To your left is a ledge of iron rich conglomerate, a type of 'natural concrete.' For the climber, go to the left, up and above the conglomerate ledge. Not for children. Be cautious or go around through the woods. Vegetation around the cache is oak forest.
As you gaze beyond the woods to the northeast from the top of the forested hill there is a field of broomsedge (Andropogon virginicus L.). In this region broomsedge is the characteristic vegetation on abandoned crop fields. Its presence usually indicates acidic, low-fertility soils.
The cache is a two quart camo thermos. The cache contains: space ranger, snake ball, rubber snake, quartz crystal, magnet clips, bug frig magnet, santa mouse, horse, log book & pencil.
