Geocache Description:

This is a great hike for EVERYONE. The trail is a wheelchair accesable interpretive trail. It is about 1/4 of mile long.

A forest pass or trail fee is required to park in this parking lot... Or you can park somewhere else and walk a bit.

A resident herd of 35 to 45 Roosevelt elk are reported to spend the winter in the pasture of this former ranch along the Santiam Wagon Road. (Be sure to visit "The Meadow" cache by Logscaler and Red while you are in the area.) There are benches along the way if you need to stop and rest. From the viewing platforms, scan the pasture with a spotting scope or binoculars for elk standing and feeding or lying down. If you do not see any elk in the middle of the meadow, carefully scan the edges of the forest that encircles it.

Enjoy the stroll!
