This stone memorial commemorates the passing of this place by the explorer Capt Charles Sturt.
Most people would drive right past this little area without a clue of the history hidden away just off the side of the road.
There is a large rock monument and an information sign about the journey by the early explorers.
There is also another stone & a small example of the old style of communications that existed in the years gone by.
