Geocache Description:

Big Spring

One of several springs within Roman Nose State Park, Big Spring produces between 300 to 600 gallons of 64 degree water per minute. Fed by ground water that flows through deep layers of gypsum and dolomite rock, the spring emerges from a strata of red shale. Big Spring and it's surrounding forest, with its ever flowing stream, served as a favorite camping ground for many generations of Native Americans. Take a moment and quietly listen to the sounds of forest and stream; feel the cool air that surrounds you. Play in the cool waters. Let your spirit be rejuvenated. Walk lightly on the land, leaving no trace of your presence. Stealth is required. Muggles all around.
