Geocache Description:

Join me at around noon on Friday, September 28, 2012 for the 5th annual (and possibly last) mountain top picnic event at the top of Mount Batchawana.

Although not within the top 25 highest mountains in Ontario, Mount Batchawana is the one with the highest rise. It is 626m above sea level and has a rise of 378m.

I offer you a great view of Ontario and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience...what more could you ask for. Meet at the posted coords at around noon. Stay as long as you want. Bring your own food and drinks for a picnic. And don't forget your camera.

See you at the top!

Also, if you are interested in joining me on the adventure to the top, let me know. I will be staying in Sault St. Marie in the days leading up to the event.

Getting There:
We should be able to drive to the base of the mountain.
--From Hwy 17 (Trans-Canada Hwy) turn onto Mile 38 Road.
--Follow road for approximately 24km to the shelter at the base of Batchawana Mountain.
--Hike 1.5km up to the top of Batchawana Mountain by following the trail and then bushwhacking the rest of the way.
