Through a kissing gate, a flat tarmac footpath leads to the cache which is just off the path to the back of some trees.
There are many historic buildings situated in the small Flintshire village of Northop. Making your way to the cache along church road, you will pass a few of these.
On the left as you enter the road, is the magnificent Parish Church of St Eurgain and St Peter. The original and welsh name for the village is Llaneugain, derived from the welsh saint Eurgain, niece of St Asaph. The earliest parts of the church date from the fourteenth century. The 30m high tower was built in 1571 and holds a ring of eight bells.
On the right, are two small cottages. These were the homes of weavers and bear the weavers sign on the left hand side of the front wall.
Next to this is the Old Police House. The brick and timber building was built in 1877. It contained cells and a magistrate’s room.
At the end of this road, you will find the footpath. The cache is only a short walk away. The cache is a small tupperware box containing a log book, pencil, a collection of small trinkets and a First to Find token.
