You're Still Welcome to East Wenatchee Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ambrosia: I think I've had enough issues with keeping a cache here, that I'm going to archive this and open the park up to someone else to place a cache here.

This cache is over 8 years old, sad to see it go.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to East Wenatchee!

Please read the hint, because the cache is hidden well and I want it to remain that way. Someone seems to be using the gazebo to stash their belongings. Thanks.

There used to be a cache here by Subie21, and I appreciated this little park so much. In honor of that archived cache, and the town of East Wenatchee, I place another cache here.

East Wenatchee's a great town, and I'm glad to say that I actually lived here for almost a year. My husband grew up here.

This is Ballard Park, with a cute little gazebo and a memorial to Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon. Pangborn and Herndon were the first people to fly non-stop across the Pacific Ocean. They took off in Misawa, Japan, and landed nearby at Fancher Field. The memorial consists of an informational plaque, and a model of Miss Veedol, the plane used in the record breaking flight. The bright red, six foot long plane is on top of a pole, and moves with the wind like a weather vane.

Enjoy the park, and enjoy the town!
