This cache has been archived.

Moun10Bike: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located at The Kitsap Memorial State Park. I raised the difficulty level because of the first waypoint.

The pirates have landed and hidden their treasure. Be careful on this hunt for the treasure because pirates do not appreciate people taking their things! If you are brave enough to accept this challenge and can think like a pirate, step up to the task.
This cache can be accessed with your pirate tracking boat or if you are land lubber, a horseless carriage will do. Once you arrive at the ghost pirate forest, take out your magic GPS wand and head into the deep dark scary forest. Wild chipmunks with three inch fanges have been known to carry small children away in this forest. Stay close to your captain and follow his or her every command. In case your parrot gets too heavy on your shoulder (doesn't every pirate have a parrot?), there are several "fence posts" along the edge of the ghost pirate forest to help with your burden. The secret hidden within the forest provides the location to the final resting place of the treasure. As you make your way to the beach, make sure that you keep a look out for any pirates who wish to do you harm. Rumor has it that if you take a peice of treasure to trade, the Pirates of Poulsbo will not track you down and run you through. With the stealth of a pirate please hide the treasure as well as or better than you found it.

This cache is dedicated to a little friend of mine that I never met. A college friend of mine recently had a baby who died of SIDs. His name was Nate and he was in this world for two short weeks.
This cache should be fairly easy and is definately kid friendly. There are two way points and both hiding spots should be child friendly. I gave this cache a difficulty of 2 because getting reception in the wooded area of the park can be tricky at times. I gave the terrain a 2 because the 2nd part of the cache requires a little walk down bulkhead by the water. Please watch your little ones here. Happy Hunting!

Update 1/29/2006; Replaced final cache with a traditional amo can.
