AKA: Buzzard
Peak
Time for a cache to get the heart pumping a
bit. The cache is located near the city of Walnut, and a short hike
will get you to the top of the hill named Buzzard Peak. Along the
way you will have views of Forest Lawn and spectacular views of the
city in all directions. While there are several ways in I will give
you one. Park at N 34°
04.065 W 117° 51.366
and go for the Skyline Trail. Keep
following it and the signs, then follow it some more. When
you come to the large X look for the steps and make your
ascent. This is about 1.75 miles and 750 feet of elevation
gain in. :) Follow your GPS and look for an ammo can. There
are at least two benchmarks at the top of the hill if you are
so inclined, and you will pass two caches on the way, they
are way down at the bottom. So if you have some caches
bouncing around in the back of your car bring them along and
place them along the trail.
