Geocache Description:

This is a REVIVAL of my original Perrin's Crossing Cache (GCK975). Hopefully there is less controversy over THIS cache.

Coordinates above are for the 1st stage of this cache. Park on the side street at N 41' 53.261, W 071' 19.404.

DO NOT PARK AT THE LOCAL BUSINESS ACROSS FROM THE SIDE STREET!

Perrin's Crossing refers to the set of Railroad Tracks that cross nearby. These tracks are the East Junction tracks that connected Attleboro to Pawtucket and then on to East Providence.

If you were to follow the tracks WEST, you would eventually arrive at a place where the tracks actually are ACTIVE, just before crossing RT 152. Past there you would eventually arrive in Slater Park in Pawtucket, crossing the Bike Trail at the 10 Mile River Greenway.

If you were to follow the tracks EAST, you would be headed towards Attleboro (Hebronville) and the tracks would eventually link up to part of the MBTA Commuter Rail.

The East Junction was a set of tracks that were Part of both the P&B Railroad and the P&W Railroad Companies. At one time, they were even managed by the Seekonk Railroad Company which later folded and relinquished the tracks back to the P&W/P&B.

TO DO THIS CACHE, THERE IS NO NEED TO GO ON, TRAVEL DOWN, OR EVEN THINK ABOUT THE RAILROAD TRACKS!!

I have taken and posted PICTURES of anything you might be interested in seeing on the tracks themselves. So, no need to go down there now. OK? Are clear on that??

(Although I haven't seen a train cross Pine Street on these tracks for over 20 years, there could be one coming down these rusty rails at any moment!! RIGHT??)

Enjoy the cache and Don't forget to Bring a PEN!!
