Prime Hook Wildlife Area
The trail leading to this cache is lined with piles of algae deposited by the state. The local ponds and lakes have such heavy algae vegetation during the summer that the state invested in special euipment to harvest it. The harvest machines can be set to cut the algae growth at any desired depth. The harvested algae is then loaded on a trailer and taken to a state wildlife area such as this and dumped.
The area is open daylight hours only.
This area can be very wet and muddy after a rain.
This area should be avoided during firearm deer season. Wearing blaze orange would be a good idea during all other hunting seasons. For hunting dates check here: (visit link)
