Park at N32° 06.978 W097° 23.933 where the highway crosses Rock
Creek. You will see a county road on maps. This DOES NOT make it
all the way to the river. There is NO BRIDGE and it crosses PRIVATE
PROPERTY.
This cache will require nearly a 2 mile round trip hike. It will
also require a crossing of the Nolan River if you approach from the
other side. This is possible as the river is quite shallow at this
location many times of the year. It can also be quite volatile and
even dangerous at other times. I will leave it up to you to watch
the weather and decide if it is feasible. There is a trail down to
the river and then upstream to the cache. There are trails on the
other side of the river right up to the cache, but I don’t know
where they come from or where they go. The cache location is quite
unique. You will see when you get there. The structure is nearly 80
years old. The cache is not down below and it is not on top. It is
somewhere in-between. It is a small cammo’d container. Retrieval
will be difficult but not impossible. Replace it best you can like
you found it. Use the natural surroundings to conceal it.
