Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. However, if you like catching Specks, (AKA Speckled Perch/Crappie), I highly recommend it. You are searching for a camo'ed 50 calibre ammo can in the Brickyard Slough Tract of the Lake Monroe Conservation Area.

This cache is part seven of my simpleton puzzle series, which I’ve created in an ironic salute to local geogeniuses whose puzzles have left me drooling and glassy eyed, staring helplessly at my computer. I’d like to dedicate this cache to Capaldo, who brought us “Totally Tubular Two”, (GCM67R ), & “Towelie II - Evil Towelie”, (GCJB2C), which remain to this day as the two most enjoyable caches I’ve ever done. My hat is off to you Sir Capaldo!

To find this cache will require 3 different, yet often complimentary talents:
1) Puzzle solving skills:
Match wits with some of the local Geogeniuses by solving the following puzzle caches:
a) Halfway to HiddenRock by overrover (GCM637 )
b) Be nice, and play fair - II by TheNomad (GCM9RM)
c) Turn em before you burn em by hiddenrock (GCME88)

2) Basic orienteering skills:
Locate a spot on the planet that is exactly:
a) 60,263’ from the actual coordinates for “Halfway to HiddenRock”
b) 46,687’ from the actual coordinates for “Be nice, and play fair II”
c) 45,660' from the actual coordinates for “Turn em before you burn em”

3) Basic searching techniques
a) Patience
b) Perseverance
c) Systematic methodology

Depending on your mental capacity, the first stage might be very easy, or very hard. It took me 11 months to solve all three, but I’m kind of a dunderhead. I will gladly provide hints for my cache, (heck, I'll even give ya the bloody coordinates if you ask nice), however, I will not provide hints for the three puzzle caches listed in the first stage. That’s between you and the cache owners.

The second stage will be child’s play for anyone familiar with topographic maps. For those not familiar with topographic maps, now’s as good a time to learn as any! Aristotle said it best; “Education is the best provision for old age”.

The third stage might prove to be the most difficult, since even the most accurate topographic rulers will give you a larger search area then you would typically have using a GPSr. My clunky old Magellan gets me within 20' on a good day. When I worked this out on paper, the search area was much, much larger, so I tried to pick a "ground Zero" that should be fairly obvious once you get close. Work out what your Ground Zero is, and I'll be happy to tell you how close you are.

All posted distances were gathered utilizing Google Earth Plus. Ain’t that a kewl program? The cache can be reached on foot, with a 4 mile round trip hike from the parking area at N28* 49.182, W081* 11.077, or by boat, with a much shorter hike. You choose. Special thanx to the St. John's River Water Management District for granting permission for this location.

FTF prize is a Tribble which does the FTF dance when dropped.

Note: Hunting is legal at this location, so use due care.

Good luck!

Congratulations to Jackie & Bob for another FTF! Whoo Hoo!!!
