**UPDATE** ALMOST ALL OF THE POISON OAK HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE TRAIL ON 7/9/6. I AM GLAD THAT IT DOES NOT GIVE ME THE RASH!
Pacific Madrone trees, Oregon White Oak trees and the Sacramento River are a PEAK experience at this unique location in Shasta County. With a 4WD you can park about 460’ away from the cache coordinates. Without a 4WD you can park about 220’ away, as the crow flies, from the cache coordinates. Go figure!
A good hike in and out if you do not have a 4WD I guarantee it will be worth the trip.
Access can be a little tricky for those unfamiliar with the area. Exit at these coordinates: 41.02.881 N 122.23.077 W. This is about a 1 ¾ mile past the Gibson Road exit, #714, at a fishing point access road.
