Eagle's Nest - a trek over Silly Mountain with great views of the Superstition mountain range and Phoenix's east valley. Steep hike in areas, lots of rock, some trails.
Eagle's Nest was named after the Eagle travel bug, Liberty's Perch, that starts off in this cache on its way to Ashland Ohio. The cache is a white, round, metal tin full of goodies, especially for the First-To-Finds and Second-To-Finds. There's a black log book and pencil in there so please log your visits!
Eagle's Nest sits in Silly Mountain, the southwestern last stand of the Superstition Mountains near Phoenix, Arizona.
While muggles are rare as this is a less traveled area, keep an eye out for them nonetheless. Enjoy the cache!
PLEASE NOTE: There have been several reports that this cache is way off the approved trails. We certainly want to be good citizens. This cache was placed before the area had new trails and restrictions placed on it. There also have been reports that, if you know the right trails, you can get fairly close to this cache, and that is half the trick to finding Liberty's Perch. Nonetheless, we will research this with Apache Junction and SALT and possibly relocate the cache. Until then, please visit responsibly and leave no trace. Thanks!
