Wandercaches gibt es im Odenwald Einige, Drive-Ins auch schon, heute mal was Anderes: der erste odenwälder Fly-In, gerade mal 100m neben dem Segelflugplatz Rothenberg gelegen, der an schönen Wochenenden häufig gut genutzt wird.
Für die Autofahrer: ein Parkplatz liegt bei N49 29.466 E8 55.644, ab da ist das GPS überflüssig. Geht am steinernen Kreuz vorbei und bleibt parallel zum Waldrand auf dem asphaltierten Weg. Nach knapp einem Kilometer steht am Wegrand eine Hütte. 3m hinter der südwestlichen Ecke liegt ein großer Stein, darunter findet Ihr die Letterbox.
In der Letterbox befindet sich neben dem Logbuch und ein paar Kleinigkeiten auch ein Stempel zum Abstempeln persönlicher Logbücher. Bitte verseht das Letterbox-Logbuch mit einem persönlichen Stempel (Finger- bzw. Pfotenabdruck tun's auch, aber bitte die Stempelfarbe nicht vergessen), Logs ohne eigenen Stempel werden gelöscht!
Ihr überquert eine Start- und Landebahn. Auf das Warnsignal ist daher unbedingt zu achten!
Einkehrempfehlung: Rosenwirts Scheune, Hauptstraße 42 in Rothenberg (Montags geschlossen).
There are lots of caches for wandering all over the Odenwald, even some drive-ins, but now for something now: the first odenwaelder fly-in, located just about 100m next to the airport Rothenberg. On weekends with sunshine you'll have the chance to see some sailplanes start or land.
For car-users: park your car around N49 29.466 E8 55.644 and follow the paved way near the stone cross for about 1km. When in doubt, chose the right way, not the left, but stay on the paved way. You’ll come to a little hut that’s waiting near the way. Go to the south-western corner of the hut and you’ll see a big stone app. 3m away lying on the floor. The letterbox ist waiting under this stone.
Inside the box you’ll find a logbook, some goodies for trading and a stamp for your personal logbooks. Please do also stamp the letterbox-logbook with your personal stamp (a print of a finger/paw will work also, but don’t forget the ink!), logs without personal stamp will be deleted! .
You’ll cross the runway, so watch out for the red warning light. If it’s flashing, don’t go ahead!
